Tim Land

Tim Land is a lecturer on Creative Sound & Music.
He has an extensive background in music production, performance and independent music business.

timAfter Graduating from University of Westminster’s Commercial Music degree (1996) Tim developed his production skills as in house engineer for Tongue & Groove records. He then joined interactive music cooperative Audiorom resulting in installation work at the ICA and being awarded a BAFTA for Enhanced Music CDRom - Shift Control (1998)

Signing to Hospital records as ‘Landslide’ Tim produced his debut solo album ‘Drum & Bossa’ (2000) which was also released by Sony (Japan) & OM (US). International DJ tours included Japan, America and Europe. Live performances included main stage at the Big Chill Festival. Extensive remix duties followed including work for Nitin Sawney, London Elektricity & Bugz in the Atttic. Tim has also released EP’s for labels including Wah Wah, Compost & Sick Trumpet. The second Landslide artist album ‘Medical History’ was released on Hospital (2006). Recent EP releases include Tim’s own label’s Landmass Recordings and Round the Houses. The third Landslide artist album is set for release in October 2009.

Tim was a key member of ‘London Elektricity live’ which extensively toured worldwide between 2003 - 2006. Winner of best live act 2004& 2005 Knowledge Awards.

Commercial production credits include music for SKY/ BBC /BAFTA /EXTREME MUSIC /KPM /DIGIFREAK covering games, animations, short film, exhibitions, radio idents & TV.

DJ radio broadcasts include Radio One, 1xtra, XFM, KISS. DJ residencies have included Plastic People, Herbal, & Big Chill (London)

Current research interests include future music economies for independent artists.
